It's all about Malaysia

Hello fellow viewers, for this week's assignment we are assigned to make a video about Malaysia .

In Malaysia, when we have different races that mix around with each other, we have a mixture of culture, for example we can see other races like the Chinese and Indians celebrating Hari Raya too by visiting open houses and such .

Malaysia is rich with culture, and especially food. You can never get a country with so many food from other cultures .

We would like to thank our lecturer Sir Aidil for giving us this opportunity to know what people think about Malaysia

So, if we could summarize the word Malaysia in 3 words it would be unique, beautiful and home .

Recent events

Hey there fellow viewers, for this week's entry we are going to post about the latest happenings around UiTM Jengka, Pahang  :)

And also as a student, we should take this opportunity and be active in going to all these beneficial events or activities because it will benefit you in the future .

So, without further a do, the first event we would like to post is -

' Malam Penghayatan Islam '

This event was held on 15th of March, and it was organized by Ahli Rakan Masjid (ARM) Uitm Jengka in hopes of enlightening all the students about Islam.

The event took place in Auditorium 1 where there were quite a number of turnouts until the Auditorium was packed and the organizing members had to place additional chairs in order to fit all the audience .

The night started with a speech and then carried on with some slide shows and there was also a competition where 5 participants expressed their love of Islam by giving speech, singing about it and also by nasyid.

At the end of the night, there was a slide show about how our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) passed away.

It was such a touching story that some wasn't aware of how Prophet Muhammad's life was taken by Jibrail.

Some shed a tear as they could not contain their feelings anymore. Our Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) had sacrificed a lot for us in order to broaden the spread of Islam.

We should all take a moment and say our prayer and doa' to Prophet Muhammad for all the things he had done for us.

On a lighter note,  there was another event of silat demonstration held in Maran, Pahang by the members of Persatuan Seni Silat Gayung 

Silat Demonstration

The event took place on the 10th March 2011 in Maran, Pahang. The silat demonstration was one of the programs that was mainly for Karnival Maulidur Rasul .

At the carnival, there were a lot of activities for everyone to participate in, for example, there was a banner competition, ' kursus jenazah ', debate competition, silat demonstration and a lot more.

There was also a lot of booths in the carnival where people sell food, drinks, and even sell clothing .

The event was indeed a successful one where a lot of people came and participate in the events held.

Group Activity and Events

Hello fellow viewers, for this weeks entry we were assigned to share about our groups activities 

First up, our day trip to ;


 Air Terjun Teladas, Maran !

The scenery 

For all of you who don't know where is Air Terjun Teladas, well it is located in Maran Pahang which is only one hour drive from Jengka. We rented UiTM's van which cost us about RM100 for a van. We started the journey from 8 in the morning and when we arrived there, we were really excited and also amazed to see that we were the only one’s there. They said that, that place was once popular but somehow now it has been abandoned. The route to the waterfall is very narrow and slightly treacherous however we arrived there safely. The air was really refreshing and the water was really cold.
 Although everyone fell asleep on the way back due to tiredness we all had a great time there ;)

HOMSIS

 Silat demonstration

What is HOMSIS? Well HOMSIS is short form for Hari Organisasi Mahasiswa. On 22nd January 2011, HOMSIS was held in UITM Multipurpose Hall which is also known as DSG among the students. The purpose of HOMSIS is to attract new students especially students in their first semester to join their clubs. The event provided many clubs, sports club and society for the students to choose from like 'Kelab Bumiku' , Peers Club , 'Kelab Estetika Budaya (KEB), Bowling and etcetera.

Part 3 and below are compulsory to join at least a club to get points for their ' Kemahiran Insaniah ' . UiTM motivates students to join these clubs so that students will be active not only in their studies but also in their part - time curriculum. When they are active in the club, they would be able to make UiTM proud of their achievements.

So friends, sign up for a club and be active ! It's also a bonus point because when you're finding a job later in life, you would have extra certificate to back up your resume ;)

On the 19th of February, Kompleks Siswi hosted an event to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. . We are reminded of this day as the day our beloved Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. was born on the 12th Rabiul Awal, Tahun Gajah in Mecca.

Every block has to take part in the celebration in which there are different categories like Nasyid, parade and banner competition among blocks.

Block C won the best banner while Block J won the Nasyid competition and lastly Block A won the best parade.

There were a lot of people who join and took part in the celebration and we think that it was a successful event in which we are reminded and to make us realize about the sacrifice of our beloved Prophet to spread Islam.

Blog Review

Hey there fellow viewers, for this weeks assignment, we were assigned to review 4 blogs and identify their strength and weaknesses. We found various blogs from handmade accessories, make-ups, fashion and also food blog. 
( Do click on the blog shop name to check it out for yourself ;)

Iroiro Handmade Shop

While browsing around for this assignment we found this blog which specializes in handmade accessories from earrings, necklace, hair piece and even handmade cushions!

 Strength : 

1. Because the items they are selling are handmade, they are pretty much unique as you can't get them anywhere else

2. It is a really convenient thing that they had labels at their side column, it saves time for the viewers to search for what they really want

3. The third strength is it is customer friendly because the terms and conditions are well written and not excessively long

Weaknesses :

1. There Cash on Delivery Service is only available in Mid Valley only and it is not convenient for those living outside of Klang Valley

2. We think that the blog is slightly too simple and does not have enough design

      

3. Finally we think that the handmade item that are sewn    should have more detailed and neater stitchings 

Ranking : We give Iroiro handmade blogshop 3 stars !

Make Up Haven Vanity

As we are all girls, we couldn't help but to do some blog-walking on make up products! This  blog offers a variety of make-ups from overseas and also fragrances that are not available here in Malaysia :)

Strength :

1. There's a systematic order form that helps the first time online shoppers to do their purchase which pretty much saves a lot of time

2. They advertises their promotions clearly so customer's know when and what promotion is currently going

3. You can also chat with the owner ( when they are online ) to ask for further inquiries

Weaknesses :

1. There are such a long list of Terms & Conditions which makes it really complicated and confusing

2. There's a really confusing point in which they stated 'COD will be entertained for items more than RM70. 50% deposit required prior to meet-up. COD subjected to availability and ACCORDING to our choice.'    while at another point they stated that ' COD area - not available '

3.  Because some of the items are pre-order, it will take approximately around 4 weeks ( and sometimes more ) for the items to reach Malaysia

Ranking : We give Make up Haven 2 and a half star !

Pumpkin

We must say that we had fallen in love with almost every item there is in this blog! The clothes are very up to date and also very very fashionable. We think this blog is ideal for those who does not shop at malls, because they carry a variety of items from tops, dresses, handbags and also shoes.

Strength : 

1. They have a lot of items in terms of up to date,high quality and attractive garments, bags, and shoes. The owner of the blogshop has a good sense of fashion 

2. Because they have become quite successful in business, they even have customers from overseas which leads them to be able to do international shipping 

3. They have a very detailed description about their clothes. Example like prices, measurement and material of the clothes which makes it easier for the customer to make up their mind

Weaknesses : 

1. The arrangement of the layout makes the blog look a little bit too crowded 

2. The items that they're selling are always out of stock. They should have more stocks to satisfy the market demand

3. They do not provide a specific label and categories at the side column. It is quite hard to find a specific item in the blog

Ranking :We give Pumpkin 5 stars!

A Place for Desserts

Yummy ! The desserts that they offer in this blog looks delicious. We just cannot take our eyes off it ! We all were really tempted to order each and one of their products!

Strength :

1. The desserts in this blog is very tempting, interesting and very mouth watering!

2. They make a special promotion for festive season. For example, they are selling various new types of delicious cookies such as chocolate chip cookies, vanilla sugar cookies and chocolate oatmeal cookies

3. They have a really good background music which is suitable with the blog. 

Weaknesses : 

1. The blog is kind of crowded as they put too many pictures as the background

2. The fonts are too small to read compared to the label of their item

 3. They do not have the latest update. The last one was on 1st May                                   2010

Ranking : We give A Place for Desserts 5 stars!

In conclusion, each and every blog has their own strength and weaknesses. Nothing is perfect but each blog needs to identify their weaknesses and keep improving in order to make their business goes on smoothly. They should make sure that their blog is always up to date to compete with the fast rising online business :)
